Happy Holidays! with love from the Creative Director
This has been an amazing year under the Verve roof! We are finishing up our 3rd year over here and very much looking forward to the 4th! This year has been a blast and has gone by so swiftly. The team has really gelled and grown together and I am really looking forward to seeing everyone advance further into the dream and the vision. This year we saw Maggie reach her end as my assistant and grow into a full fledged member of our hair roster. And she has transitioned beautifully into this role, having done it now for the past 5 months. She has had quite the year! Starting out 2011, her and I attended the Redken Symposium, along with 10,000 hairstylists from around the globe. What an opportunity for such a young stylist! Linzo has also had a great year! This year she placed 3rd in the province in the Fully Qualified Women’s Cut and Colour category. This has amped her up, and she is already brainstorming for next years comp. Look out BC, she is one to watch! This year also brought us a wonderful addition to the team with Kelsey. Kelsey has spent her first 6 months exploring all of her options in the industry and has recently decided to also compete in 2012. And, I reached a career high for myself this year as well, when I placed as one of the top 5 Fashion Hairstylists in Canada for the Contessa awards. This was a dream of mine since I was a young hairstylist to represent at the Contessa’s. To finally reach this goal while backed by my superstar hair team was beyond comprehension. And of course, you voted us as one of the best salon’s in North Vancouver and West Vancouver for a third year! And then there is the education… we are NERDS! We have attended numerous education events within the city, and I myself have traveled to Las Vegas, LA and Toronto. And we are already making plans for our education in 2012!
All of the love and accolades mean nothing without the everyday at Verve Hair Lounge. Every day under our roof brings something new and exciting, we are blessed with truly amazing and wonderful clients. The support for our team, our vibe and our vision has been absolutely breath taking. We love what we do, and having the love returned is the ultimate reward. And from this love, brings our inspiration to give back to our community. And this is what brings me the most joy. This year we supported and sponsored several initiatives including the Ride to Conquer Cancer, Because I am a Girl Foundation, Salvation Army, F*ck Cancer, and Homelessness Action Week. All of these ideas and contributions are purely bred from our individual interactions with our clients and our own personal lives. Our connection to the community comes from our connection to you, our clients. Thank you so much for all of your love, support and most importantly your inspiration that leads us to do such wonderful work. Thank you for helping myself and the Verve team to make our dreams a reality and making our daily lives within our household a loving and supported environment. We look forward to what the future holds, and we are thankful to have you be a part of it.
